Buxton forms a sort of arc, facing south, surrounded by hills, in this view. The railway viaduct on the left carries wagons of cement from Hind Low Quarry to the south of here. The line then meets up with the one from Tunstead (an even bigger quarry) before meeting the main line from Buxton, west towards Stockport.
