This information board, pictured along Queens Quay shows the German Submarine Fleet moored along Atlantic Quay - I counted about 40 vessels The following text is included, "In May, 1945, the Royal Navy escorted eight German U-boats to the jetty at Lisahally. Commander-in-Chief, Sir Max Horton accepted the surrender in recognition of the city's role in the Battle of the Atlantic. Over 60 U-boats waited their fate at Lisahally. Most were scuttled at sea."
