Monument commemorating four martyrs of the Scottish Reformation: Patrick Hamilton, Henry Forrest, George Wishart and Walter Mill [or Milne], all burned at the stake in St. Andrews between 1528 and 1558. In 1560 the Scottish Reformation Parliament passed legislation replacing the Catholic Church with the new Reformed Church of Scotland.
