Longton South Neighbourhood
Much of the area dates back to the peak of the local pottery industry with much of the housing in the community built as homes for the factory workers in nearby Longton.
There is also Queens Park in Dresden that offers many facilities for the community such as a children's play area, tennis courts and a skate-boarding area. There are also two bowling greens in Dresden and one in Normacot. Normacot also offers two football pitches.
Lightwood is a suburb of Stoke-On-Trent and gives its name to The Lightwood Hoard, a substantial collection of Roman coins discovered buried in the garden of a house on Lightwood Road in 1960.
Normacot was recorded in the 1087 Domesday Book as part of the ""Land of Richard Forester "" and is one of the longest established communities in the area.
The area is made up of a mixture of housing including many Victorian terraced properties.
