Outside the large Bescot Shed is 2-6-0 No. 42894 (built 1930 as No. 13194, withdrawn 12/64). The Depot was the principal ex-LNW Depot in the Birmingham area, coded 3A by the LMSR and BR(LMR), with an allocation in 1950 of 72 steam locomotives:- 4 4-6-0, 10 2-8-0, 8 2-6-0, 43 (no less!) 0-8-0, 4 0-6-0 and 3 0-6-0T.
