"One of the first and best big post-war buildings in the city", was Pevsner's verdict. Built in 1958-59 as tax offices to the designs of E.H. Banks of the Ministry of Works. Clad in Portland stone, with windows grouped in threes above blue-grey spandrels. There are also three much smaller blocks in the complex (Image]).
