Some might say undue prominence to the Woodhouse Lane Car Park, given its companion being one of the most lauded of Leeds's new buildings. As is seemingly the case for everything built in Leeds in the last ten years it provides accommodation for students (Leeds Metropolitan University) - the tower, not the car park. Faced in Corten steel which gives it its distinctive rusty appearance but obviates the need for paint. By Feilden Clegg Bradley, 2008-09. It's certainly not the best tall building in the world, but not bad. I'd guess the car park dates from the 1970s. Nice! Fellow Geographer Jonathan Billinger has pointed out to me that the top of the car park is surrounded by an anti-suicide fence. Personally, I don't think the tower is that bad.
