View SE, towards Euston: West Coast Main Line. (See also Image]). The 15.45 Euston - Manchester London Road was running in three parts that Summer Saturday. This part had smart-looking Stanier 'Jubilee' 6P 4-6-0 No. 45674 'Duncan' (built 12/35, withdrawn 6/67 - one of the last). The electric lines to Watford are parting below to pass under the road bridge at Little Oxhey Lane. With Harrow Hill in the right distance, this looks like country - but it wasn't.
