The statue was sculpted by Tussaud-Birt (grandson of Madame Tussaud) in 1948 and erected outside the main entrance to the hall. In the 1950s the bow was stolen on for its lead value. The statue has since been restored and now takes centre stage in the courtyard and has been given a Santa hat in the lead-up to Christmas. The old stable courtyard at Thoresby Hall has been converted into several craft shops and a cafe. http://www.thoresby.com/business.htm
