Located inside Taffs Well Park at the edge of the River Taff. The locked building encloses the only known thermal spring in Wales. http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2730498 The thermal spring, which gave the village its name, was formerly used for bathing because of its supposed healing powers. It has fallen into disrepair and is now disused. There is currently (December 2011) a local campaign for the spring to be brought back into use.
