View southward to Preston Station: WCML and major junction. Preston was at its busiest during the Blackpool Illuminations and this train was one of numerous Excursions passing through, seen from near Preston No. 4 Box. The locomotive is Stanier 5MT 4-6-0 No. 45448 (built 1937, withdrawn 11/67).
