View westward, towards Glasgow: ex-Caledonian Glasgow (B. St.) - Larbert - Stirling - Perth etc. main line. The 09.40 from Buchanan Street is headed by Stanier 5MT 4-6-0 No. 45177 (built 1935, withdrawn 7/66). It will follow an unusual route for passenger trains: after turning off the Perth main line at Denny South Junction before Larbert, it will run by the loop through Falkirk Grahamston and join the ex-NB Glasgow - Edinburgh main line at Polmont Junction; then at Winchburgh Junction it will take the loop to Dalmeny Junction to join the main line from Edinburgh and go over the Forth Bridge to Inverkeithing, whence left on the Dundee main line to Kirkcaldy. Here, Greenhill (closed 18/4/66) station is behind the camera: over to the left and connecting to the Caledonian main line by a loop from Greenhill Upper Junction is the NB (Edinburgh & Glasgow) main line and Bonnybridge High station (closed 6/3/67); on the right is branch to Bonnybridge (Cal., closed to passengers 28/7/30, goods 7/12/64).
