One of a number of settlements which commemorate the Battle of Waterloo. For example, Waterloo station (south London), Waterloo (Crosby, north Liverpool) and Waterlooville (Hants). This one is on a more modest scale, and lies in centre of the square formed by Matfen, Ryal, Ingoe and Fenwick (Northumberland).
