This fireman's memorial is beside a River Thames promenade around the Isle of Dogs towards Blackwall. On one of the obelisks is a metal plaque which reads "In memory of those who lost their lives on 17th July 1969 following an explosion on this site previously known as Dudgeon's Wharf.
