Looking towards Wolds Farm. There are three adjacent farms all named Wolds Farm; this is the most northerly of the three. I was puzzled by the naming of the area as Plumtree Wolds, as they lie in Normanton parish, and the village of Normanton lies directly in line between them and Plumtree village. Looking at older maps, it is clear that there have been substantial changes to parish boundaries, involving principally Keyworth, Plumtree and Normanton. The old Plumtree parish was once much larger, more or less wrapping round Normanton and including this area of the wolds.
