The conserved bell on what I think must have been the janitor's house of Couper Street Primary School. Generations of Leithers came through here between 1890 and 1951. The school survived until 1960, before becoming a training centre for apprentices to the electronics firm of Ferranti at Crewe Toll on Ferry Road. http://www.edinphoto.org.uk/0_pcv_a/0_post_card_views_hartmann_coat_of_arms_couper_street_school.htm
