This photograph is intended mainly to supply some context for closer views of the date stone that can be seen, incorporated into a modern building, on the left: Image The stone is dated 1675, and was originally part of a building called the Golden Cross; the latter was demolished in the 1960s, when this new building was built. The other white building, on the right, is Cross House, which dates to c.1700. It is used as church halls; see also Image, where the same building is on the left.
