Part of a conservation area adjoining the New Kings' Road, Studdridge Street was built at the end of the C19 by Jimmy Nichols. Along with adjoining streets on its north side, it is characterised by decorative features of which the most eye-catching are these terracotta lions, used as finials, roof tiles and on projecting bays. Unfortunately, they should be red in colour, but the vast majority are now painted white.
