Boughton Place is close to Boughton Malherbe Church and, like the church, is high up on the Greensand Ridge. It was the home of the Wottons and what is now left is one wing of the house built by Sir Edward Wotton in the 1620s. See also http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4082851
