The architectural style seems old-fashioned for 1922, but perhaps the directors of the Halifax Permanent Building Society had conservative taste. The stone mason has provided a touch of humour - if you look closely at the leafy motif near the bottom of the image it contains two grotesque faces with ambiguous expressions.
