This break in the perimeter bund close to Mercote Hall Lane is on the eastern side of Coleman's sand and gravel quarry. In the absence of readily-accessible information my guess is that this land has been worked and restored; equally it may be fallow land awaiting exploitation. To the right is one of two towers for (presumably) washing and grading the material. Its location appears to be SP23008127.
