View westward, towards Newport etc.: ex-GW South Wales main line. A typical Class H coal train towards England nearing the great Severn Tunnel Junction Yards, headed by Collett '4200' 2-8-0T No. 5249 (built 12/25). The route between STJ and Newport was quadrupled in 1941.
