Staffordshire Moorlands District Council are now so strapped for cash that they are abandoning painting white lines on their roads. In an effort to make up for the profligacies of platinum pensioned employees, staff are being urged to go out into the countryside with a piece of chalk. The B5053, west of Butterton.
