The group of people is a mixture of members of Ashford Choral Society and Les Choeurs de la Pleiade from Paris, who had jointly performed Handel's Alexander's Feast in the parish church of St Mary's (whose tower can be seen in the distance) the evening before. Two coaches are standing outside Ashford library to transport the French choir back to Paris on this sunny Sunday afternoon.
