Endon Basin, beyond Bridge No 27A, was built in 1917 as a canal/railway interchange wharf, but is now used by the Stoke-on-Trent Boat Club. There is a substantial winding hole here to turn seventy foot long narrowboats round. The Caldon Canal (opened in 1779) turns off to the right.
