The Hyde is a private estate a few miles south of Crawley. The terrain is mainly wooded, with a variety of trees, deciduous and coniferous, of varying ages. The forested part of the estate is used for commercial timber production and for breeding and hunting game. The varied nature of the terrain is well suited to orienteering, as this group from Southdowns Orienteers are enjoying.
