Built in 1933, to a design by Leitch and Partners, as the exhibition hall for the Royal Ulster Agricultural Society’s (RUAS) Balmoral Showgrounds. It and the grounds are still the venue for the annual Balmoral Show Image There has, over the past few years, been much speculation that the RUAS would move to the former Maze/Long Kesh prison site Image (closed in 2000) near Lisburn with the hall and grounds being sold for housing. The hall is currently listed as HB26/18/002 and could earn a place on the “at risk” register in the event of the showgrounds closing. Continue to Image See also Image
