"No Waiting" signs line both sides of this stretch of the A683. The Google satellite image shows a line of vehicles parked here. I guess it was used as an overnight stop for vehicles on their way to Appleby Horse Fair (just two weeks away at the time of the picture). This is one of the few short stretches of road on the Dales Way.
