View NW, towards Shireoaks and Sheffield; ex-GC Sheffield - Retford - Lincoln main line. The train is headed by Thompson Class O4/8, a rebuild (8/54) of ex-GC Class O4 No. 6311 (built 5/19 to Government order). This route carried heavy coal traffic from the many collieries in the North Nottingham District, some of which was marshalled at the Worksop Yards, which were almost opposite one another along this stretch between Worksop (to the east) and Shireoaks East Junction (for the ex-Midland line to Mansfield and Nottingham - now the Robin Hood Line).
