As far as A roads go the A409 is relatively short, only running between the Northwick Park roundabout in Harrow and Bushey Heath, a distance of about seven kilometres or about four and a half miles. The lodge on the right is for the Princess Alexandra Care Home. The woods of Harrow Weald Common are to the left.
