The lodge shown here was associated with Ardenvohr House; the latter was built in 1857, and was possibly the work of J.T.Rochead. For a closer look at the lodge, see Image Gareloch Road, the main shore-side road through Rhu, appears in the foreground. As for the roads on either side of the gate lodge, the one on the left leads to Rosslea Hall (a hotel), while the other one leads to the former Ardenvohr House (Image), which is now the clubhouse of the Royal Northern & Clyde Yacht Club. The insignia of the club appears on the lodge and on the adjacent gate piers.
