The view is across the River Seven, which is looking very shallow after a dry Spring. The Seven rises on Danby High Moor, in the middle of the North York Moors. It flows into the River Rye, at Brawby, passing through the settlements of Thorgill, Rosedale Abbey, Cropton, Appleton-le-Moors, Sinnington, Marton, Normanby, Great Barugh, and Brawby.
