As discussed in the description for Image, the name Kilbride has been associated with this area for many centuries. It ultimately came from the long-gone chapel of St Bride, which was located nearby; see Image The present picture was taken with the Domesday Reloaded project in mind, and was an attempt to recreate an older photograph, which could (at the time) be seen at the BBC's Domesday Reloaded site.
