This was the home and business premises of Mr Thacker, The local undertaker, until his death in the 1940's. He was succeeded by his son Clive Thacker, who kept the business going. The top floor as far as the gable end on the right, was his workshop where he made all the coffins. The door and window on the left end, used to be an open coal cellar, with a flight of steps going up from the left, to a landing above the cellar, with a door going into the Workshop, where the upstairs window is now, the doorway was filled in with bricks and a window added. The house has now been broken up into flats and a shop on the front in Market Street.
