RAF Bradwell Bay

This is The Perimeter track of the former “RAF Bradwell Bay” The base operated from 1942 until 1945 operations began with Douglas Boston light bombers and later A20 Havocs, However the most celebrated aircraft to use the base was De Havilland’s Wooden Wonder the Mosquito. There is a memorial to the 121 aircrew killed whilst flying from this aerodrome at Image You can see one of the remaining blister hangars to the right of the photo the other square blocks are haystacks.
