New Road House, the home of my great-uncle, stood just about where that pile of rubble is. Admittedly it was demolished decades ago to make way for part of the car park at Don's factory; that and the unbeautiful industrial buildings next door have now vanished in their turn, no doubt to be replaced by an equally unbeautiful building - there is to be another supermarket here.
