This classic Art Deco building, built in 1935/6, has been sold to developers. An application for listed protection has recently been declined by the Secretary of State, but local protection is still possible. The original elegant lines are hidden beneath modern red tiles which should be removed. The building beneath is a fine example of Art Deco architecture and has the potential to become a beautiful and important asset to the town and people of East Grinstead.
