This commemorative sphere is a recent addition. The text reads: "Let us magnify & let us sanctify His great Name in the World that He created according to His will. May His Kingdom come in your lifetime & in your days & in the lifetime of all the House of Israel ~ quickly & speedily & let all the people say Amen! May His great Name be blessed from Eternity to Eternity. Let us bless & let us laud and tell aloft & set on high & glorify. Let us Exalt & let us praise the Name of the Holy One. Blessed be He. Though He is beyond any blessing or any song or any honour or any consolation that can be spoken of in this World & let all the people say Amen! May great peace from Heaven & may life be upon us & upon all Israel & let all the people say Amen!" The small compound, next to blocks of flats in Hillington Square, is surrounded by grade-II listed walls of English bond brickwork. The east and north sides date from the 16th century and have lower courses built from carstone and sloping bricks as coping. The compound was in use as a Jewish burial ground from 1811 to 1846. The padlocked entrance gate is located in the centre of the north wall protecting 16 headstones inscribed in Hebrew. The inscriptions are very weathered and some of the stones are broken.
