The following text is included, "Castle Archdale was the station Headquarters and Officer's billet of the wartime RAF base for Catalina and Sunderland aircraft. It housed 2,000 personnel at the peak of its military operation. The top left storey window was altered to become a look out post over Lough Erne. The stable buildings of the courtyard were converted to administration buildings resulting in the slit windows of the first floor being replaced by windows." Pictured here Image]
