The cursus is a 1.75 mile long and 100 yard wide area on the open access land north of Stonehenge. The far end is at the trees in the misty far distance. It was once thought that it was a Roman race track but it is now believed to be a more ancient processional route. Nowadays there is little to be seen, except minor humps in ground, due to ploughing.
