These plaques are often to be found on Arkells' pubs. This one is on the front of the pub at first floor level. The date of 1843, is the date the brewery was founded by John Arkell, who was born in Kempsford in Gloucestershire in 1802. The brewery is still owned by the Arkell family today. Image Image
