Looking north, towards the television transmitter at Crystal Palace. The remains of the Duke of Gloucester public house can be seen, to the right of picture; recently destroyed by fire. The road bridge crosses the railway line, but originally would have crossed the Croydon Canal at this point; the railway having re-used the canal excavation.
