At first sight it seems as if a meteorite has landed and bent the gate. On second thoughts, probably some lads in a car were trying to escape the police by driving along the footpath through Lakeside Country Park. Perhaps they didn't know that a new gate had been erected here, where the footpath joins the byway. The gate held. Then someone in authority said "get me a bloody great rock...".
