A new accommodation building for students at the University of Essex’s Southend campus has divided opinions on its design. "Lego" is often mentioned. The three dials with one finger on each make up a clock. The left shows the hour, the middle shows the minute and the right is a second hand. The photograph was taken 18 seconds before noon. The building provides some 560 rooms for students studying at the university and has a council operated car park underneath it.
