Central Taxis have been in business for over 50 years. The tall clock which has become a local landmark, belongs to Central Taxis and was built around the same time as the office. The clock is maintained by a local firm. 30th June 2022 The Taxi office has recently been demolished, but the clock is still standing. Central Taxis still exist, but they are operating under the name Central Cars. The site is being redeveloped into additional parking space.
