This is the view westward from the gate at the end of Camp Road. Many of the trees in the foreground are growing on the ramparts of the structure which gave Camp Road its name - an Iron Age hill-fort which for generations has been known as Caesar's Camp. In my school-days we were told to call it Bensbury, instead - but that sounds Anglo-Saxon, and the people who built it probably spoke a language something like Welsh. So perhaps they called it Dinas. On the right of the picture, a narrow footpath leads across the hill-fort site, hemmed in between fences.
