Now owned by Crown Castle, this mast used to be owned by the BBC. This location (using a previous mast) was the location of the first antenna to transmit experimental FM radio services in the UK and its high location was ideally suited for FM transmission. Today, it is one of the most powerful FM transmitters in the country, providing BBC and independent radio station coverage for the south east of England.
