This is in Market Square, where the 18th century Town Hall used to stand until 1965. The clock tower was built in 1992 and is similar to the clock turret that was added to the original Town Hall in the 19th century. It has the original glass-dialled clock, the mechanism of which was restored. This is at the southern end of the pedestrianised High Street.
