A curious combination of activities are depicted - a Silver Jubilee street party, which must have happened in 1977, and an activity labelled as "Clearing the rubbish Nov '78". In the last, three boys seem to be grappling with a flaming mattress. The label on the tree "The Island" may refer to the tiny park in the foreground - as indeed the activities shown may. The mural seems to be partly mosaic or collage.
