This is an underground section of the former Waverley Railway Line that was closed in 1969. The 58m long tunnel is now an illuminated pedestrian walkway forming part of the route known as the Black Path. The reinstatement of the line from Edinburgh to Tweedbank is scheduled to commence in 2011 with a completion date of 2014.
